Choose Your Compression Ratio
Low Compression – EXC/XC and TE/TX
The Low Compression design is slightly lower than the previous Medium Compression 250 design.
It is best suited to applications where the engine is revving hard or where additional bottom-end power is not the main priority. It is higher compression than the standard EXC/TE enduro head and is designed for enduro applications.
Medium Compression – EXC/XC, TE/TX & High-Revving SX/TC
The Medium Compression insert is slightly higher than the previous Medium Compression design.
This is the best all-round option for most enduro riders operating from sea level up to approximately 1,000m elevation.
It can also be used on SX/TC models where the engine is revving hard and a smooth mid-range with strong over-rev is required.
High Compression – SX/TC or Enduro Above 1,000m
The High Compression design is slightly higher than the previous High Compression insert.
It is best suited to SX and TC models, where the compression is only slightly higher than the standard SX/TC head.
It can also be used on compatible enduro models when riding at elevations above 1,000m.
Very High Compression – Above 1,500m
The Very High Compression insert is designed specifically for high-elevation riding above approximately 1,500m.
It can be used with compatible SX/TC or EXC/TE models operating at these elevations.

Choosing the correct compression ratio allows the head to be matched to your motorcycle, engine characteristics, riding conditions and elevation.
